Sharon Carpenter is a proud Wiradjuri woman who was raised on Darug Country in Sydney and has called Awabakal Country, Newcastle home for the past 30 years. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Dance Movement Therapist with over 23 years of experience, she is deeply committed to supporting individuals and couples in building strong, meaningful, and fulfilling relationships.
With extensive expertise in trauma-informed care, Sharon helps clients navigate life’s challenges with compassion and respect. She brings a culturally sensitive and inclusive approach, drawing from both her personal and professional experience working with First Nations and culturally diverse communities.
Sharon holds a Bachelor of Counselling and a Graduate Diploma in Dance Movement Therapy and is a Clinical Member of the Psychotherapists and Counsellors Federation of Australia (PACFA). She is also trained in Gottman Therapy and integrates a range of evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), into her counselling practice.
With warmth, respect, and deep cultural awareness, Sharon provides a safe and supportive space for individuals and couples to explore their stories, heal from past experiences, and cultivate deeper connections in their lives.
